Hearses

Choosing the right Hearse is an important part of the funeral procession. We offer a variety of options to suit your preferences.

In New Zealand, you have significant freedom in how you transport your loved one. The only legal requirements are that the deceased must be properly wrapped, shrouded, or placed in a casket, and they must remain out of “public view” during transit.

As long as these criteria are met, the choice of transport is entirely yours. Hibiscus Funeral Services can help make this journey as simple or as ornate as you wish.

Traditional and Unique Options

Traditional Services: We can arrange classic limousines for the family to follow the hearse in comfort.

Unique Tributes: We can source specialised vehicles, such as a motorcycle hearse, for a more personal touch.

Family-Led Transport: You are welcome to transport your loved one yourselves in a family vehicle; we are happy to guide you through this process.

Special Routes: If there is a meaningful location or a scenic path you would like the procession to take, please let us know.

Whatever you decide, we are here to discuss the many options available to your family.

Our Hearses

Every life has a different rhythm. Our fleet is curated to ensure that whether your loved one was a classic soul, a modern spirit, or an adventurer, their final journey reflects that.

Cadillac Escalade

The gold standard of modern luxury. With its bold silhouette and spacious interior, the Escalade offers a sense of prestige and comfort for a grand farewell.

1969 Ford Galaxy

With its sweeping lines and storied history, this classic  (lovingly named “The old girl”) brings a sense of 1960s nostalgia and grace to the procession.

Holden Commodore SS V8 Black

A true icon offering a powerful, dignified presence. With the unmistakable rumble of a V8 engine, it provides a traditional, somber tone while honoring a life lived with passion and strength.

Holden Commodore SS V8 White

The White SS V8 offers a lighter, more contemporary feel. It provides a sense of peace and modern elegance for a “celebration of life” service without sacrificing that classic V8 spirit.

Triumph Thunderbird

The ultimate final ride for those who loved the open road. This legendary British icon features a custom-built, glass-sided sidecar that offers a clear, soulful view of the casket and floral tributes as it leads the way.

Kia Carnival

A thoughtful, understated choice. Its clean lines and modern design provide a dignified, humble, and practical option for families who prefer simplicity.
